Mask-erade Day 5 Laura Masking Patterns

Of course I forgot to add the sequins before I took the first picture.  And while I was adding them, I stamped my name on the back and somehow got two ink spots on the card.  Grrrrrrr

My card using Laura's technique.  Stamping a background and then heat embossing with clear emboss, then sponging around embossing.

Mask-erade Day 5 with Jennifer Masking with Heat Embossing

My card using Jennifer's technique masking with heat embossing.
My stamping buddy, Colleen had to go home yesterday so I am by myself.  She took the train home, left at 2:45 pm and didn't get home until 10:00 pm.  There was a bridge stuck in the open position and they were trying to fix it.  They finally had to back up to Vancouver and her husband picked her up there.
We had such a good time spending many hours in my craft room.

Mask-erade Day 3 Shari's Technique Layered Stamping using Liquid Masking

My second card for the day.  Used liquid masking on the butterflies and then stamped the background over them and did some watercolor on a stencil and did a smooshing type technique.  Really like how this turned out.

Mask-erade Day 3 Jennifer's Technique Liquid Masking

I was late getting started today.  On Thursdays, I take my 94 year old dad to I-Hop for breakfast and then we go for a drive.  He doesn't get out much and really enjoys going for a ride.  So Colleen and I got home about 12:45 and started in by watching videos.  We started the process and needed to let the liquid mask dry so went about 3:30 for an early dinner.  Then came home and I was finally able to make two cards.  The first card using the rubber cement did not come out.  I don't think I put enough on it so some color seeped through and then my watercolor background turned out horrible.  That one went into the trash.  Darn....
My next two came out pretty good.  I like them.  Yeah!!!

Merry Monday #160 Newsprint

My card for Merry Monday
Stamping with my best friend is the greatest.  We live in separate states so only get to visit 2 to 3 times a year.  And it is so fun when that happens.  When we are each in our own homes, we do Skype with each other while we are stamping and it is almost like being together.

Mask-erade Day 1 - Laura Bassen's technique Ink Blending with masks

Mask-erade Day 1 with Kristina Masking Paper

Day 1 of the On-line Card Class with Kristina using masking paper.
Yesterday, my BFF, Colleen came to visit.  She came up to Seattle for a volleyball tournament her granddaughter was in and so we planned a crafting week for us.  She will be here for 5 days and then take the train home to Portland.  It is so much fun with a fellow crafter especially when it is your best friend.  Her husband dropped her off at Impress and I met her there and we shopped for awhile, hit Joanne's, had lunch and then stopped by Ikea before heading to my house.  Then we opened up the goodies that we bought and played in my craftroom for most of the evening. Fun, Fun, Fun....

Live, Love Cards - May Challenge Watercolor

Love how my watercoloring came out, but not thrilled with the layout.  Oh well.  Good thing I am taking the on-line Masking Class cause I really could have used it here.
My card for Live, Love Cards
Watercolor

Clearly Besotted You Are stamp set, watercolored with Kuretake Ziq Clean Color Real Brush water pens.  They are my new favorite water color medium.  This is the first one that I got a softer water color look with them.  Usually, I have trouble toning it down more.
had a tutorial on her review of the Zig pens and it helped using her method, starting with a wash of water and then dropping color into it.

This was the inspiration image.  I spent almost 3 hours on this.  Tried some smooshing, a whole sheet of the stamped cubes, bokeh, you name it I tried it.  Finally, was able to come up with this.  I like how it turned out.  I'm really more of a flower girl, so had a hard time with wood blocks.

A very sweet and talented lady,  Marybeth Lopez sent me these cupcakes because I posted that I didn't have a single cupcake stamp set.  I have finally gotten around to making a card with them.  I have a thing about cupcake cards, they usually don't turn out very well.  I think this turned out pretty cute.  I would consider this clean & layered.  Thanks Marybeth.

The Challenge #34, Yellow, Orange & Green

A card for this week's The Challenge

I used my Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush watercolor pens. May Green, Orange & Yellow  Loving the intensity of these water colors.  So pretty.
H/A Hot Air Balloon
PTI's Double Ended Banner
I decided at the last minute to smoosh the background with the same colors.  I should have used a smaller piece to frame the balloon so more of the smooshing would have shown through.  Love this color combination.
