I embossed the Sentiment in clear and the snowflakes in white  PTI's Jingle all the Way, Fab Flakes,

Then did a water wash and dropped in color with my Gansai Tambi water colors.

I guess I really was thinking Spring or Summer, no turning leaves.  It's just I've made several cards lately in the oranges & yellows that I was ready for another color.

I used the leaves above to make the card below as a stencil for a technique on MIM this week by Melissa (see previous post).

 These were left over leaves and I liked how they came out so thought I could use them for another card and enter in The Paper Players.

Two challenges for me today with one card.

Haven't played in The Paper Players  for awhile.

 

& Darnell's NBUS 

Where she challenges us to use never before used schtuff.  I belong to Stamps of Life Stamp Club and they send a stamp set a month.  I don't often buy cutesy stamps so this gives me some of those that are cute and different.  

Anyway, I have a lot of SOL sets that are NBUS.  I always take this opportunity to join Darnell's challenge.

This didn't turn out as well as I pictured in my head but oh well.  You win some, you lose some....

Water color wash with PTI's Scarlet Jewel, Raspberry Fizz, Distress Inks, Mustard Seed & Dusty Concord.

I couldn't get a real good stamped image cause it was on watercolor paper even though I used my Misti and did it several times.

I haven't been very successful coloring butterflies, so decided I need to practice them.  The one on the right is Copics and the left is Ziggs.  I can still use the one on the left, but I ruined the right one by grabbing the wrong Heidi Swapp Color Shine.  I just wanted to use the gold, but picked up the Tinsel by mistake and it came out too much.  Grrrr.....and after all that coloring. 

I think I finally got some pretty butterflies though.

My card for The Paper Players 

 

 

I was going for the loose watercolor look with these whimsical flowers.  I saw a video a few weeks ago that showcased that technique and do you think I can remember who it was so just had to try it on my own. 

I used embossed with clear EP and then used Distress Inks to water color.  This is a new set that I got at Impress, Avery Elle, Floral Frame.  First time to use it, then noticed after I was done that Colleen Begley had used the same stamp set.  Well at least I used a different technique.
