My best friend, Colleen was up this Memorial weekend for a volleyball tournament for her two granddaughters, so she was able to extend her visit and spend the rest of the week with me.  She brought me my birthday present which is quite early, not until June but we both couldn't wait so I opened it.
This is the stamp set she gave me. MFT Forget Me Not.  Also, a MFT Spring Flowers stencil and some Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder.  What  fun birthday presents.  Couldn't wait to use it.  We are having fun stamping away.

PTI's MIM #166 Debossing Stamped Images by Dawn

My card using Dawn's technique debossing using dies.
You can play along MIM # 166
I had some trouble getting it to deboss rather that half cut, so I had to watch the video again.  This is probably my 5th or 6th try.....It worked once I got the pads in the right places..
PTI's Meadow Greens in Simply Chartreuse, Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy
I ran the Berry Sorbet ink pad along the side to create the edge so that it matches the flower, a technique used by Jennifer McGuire.
I am waiting patiently for my BFF, Colleen, who is coming today after her granddaughters vollyball match.  She has been here in Bellevue since Friday for a tournament.  She will come and stay until Friday which is always so much fun.

I haven't done a card for a week or two because I have been taking Jennifer McGuire's Watercolor On Line Card Class.  If you have ever taken any of her classes, you know there is no time for any other challenges because her classes are so full of ideas and techniques.  It was a fun two weeks but a little intense at times.

OLCC Day 9 - Jennifer R.s Techniques Simple Freehand Painting

My first attempt at freehand painting, although it took 3 times to get it right.  The hardest part for me was the trunk, but I am pretty happy with it.  It actually looks like a tree.
Water colors - Sentiment - PTI - Keep it Simple Birthday on Hawaiian Shores cardstock

OLCC Day 8 - Laura Bassen's technique - Using a stencil guide to paint

My card using Laura's technique.  I did not use a die but actually already had a stencil from MFT, Peaceful Wildflowers,
Watercolors on PTI's Melon Berry cardstock and pattern paper and Edger Die
3 little pearls.  Like Laura I don't always know where to put the pearls, except that most of the time I am usually trying to cover up a mark which is the case with this one.
Unfortunately, this card will be sent to a former co-worker of mine whose wife passed away suddenly yesterday.  They are in their 50's, much too young....

OLCC - Day 7 Dawn's Technique - Faux Hand Painting

My card using Dawn's Technique Painting over a stamped image.
I have re-done this so many times, too many to count.  Still not totally happy with it.  It was fine until I started adding the splatters and my own shading.  At least I tried.

Day 7 - Watercolor - Joni Nina Andaya - Faux Hand Painting

My first card for today which I painted this morning and just finished off now, using Joni Nina Andaya's method of painting over stamped image.  This was my third try.  Stamp the solid stamp, then stamped with the lined images and soften with water in re-inkers.  These images are hard for me since I like a more precise stamped image.  But I sort of like this.  Added some splatter and called it good.
PTI's Sweet Life in Distressed Inks, Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles

Day 6 - Watercoloring - Jennifer M. Watercolor and Embossed Image

I made my own shimmer with Perfect Pearls and it really doesn't show up too well in the picture.

OLCC - Day 6 - Basic Water Coloring - Jean Manis Technique

This doesn't even come close to Jean's but I'm happy with it for a first attempt.  I want to try this again and fine a stem that is not solid and attempt these flowers again.  And I forgot to wet the background first before I put the color on.  I remembered when I was almost done.  So a lot to improve on.
Clearly Besotted - Remember

MFT - Flowers #4
Sentiment from Boutique Borders - Sympathy

OLCC - Day 3 - Kristina's Technique

This is Day 3 Kristina's Card which was fine until I stamped the sentiment crooked.  Grrr, hate when that happens, so had to put a banner over it to cover it up.
I thought of using this stamp set when I first  saw the technique, then decided to try a bunch of other stamps that didn't work.  Went back to this one and I think it is the perfect set for this watercolor method.
PTI's Life, using Marvy Brush Markers and dabbing water on them.

OLCC Day 4 Watercolor - Yana Smakula's Technique

My first card for Day 4 using Yana's Technique Blending colors on an acrylic block
The first several I blended too much and came up with just one color (first card).  See below.
Then decided on different combination and got the one above and these two others.  I was very careful not to blend too much....
PTI's re-inkers Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet and Aqua Mist, I think those were the colors.
