Make It Monday #219 Texture Kissing with Lizzie

It has been over a week since I have been able to make a card.  We were at the lake (see previous post) for a week with family.
This is my card for this week's MIM
Actually the texture is showing up better than I thought it would
I used PTI's Beautiful Butterflies, the little flower trio from Floral Foliage and a floral from Funky Florals

PTI's- Simply Chartreuse, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise and Winter Wisteria.

A Week at the Lake with Family

Every Year I have a chance to put my name into a lottery for a cabin at Lake Tapps, a private area for PSE employees and retirees.  My granddaughters just love it out here.  They are little fish and love being in the water.  Here they are roasting marshmellows for smores.  L to R.  Avery, Maddy, Kailey and her friend Lianna.  It is such a beautiful place and very safe for the kids.

This is my youngest son, Brad who stayed with the girls at night.  My sister and I like the comforts of our own beds so we go home at night since it is only about 25 minutes away.  Much better for us old ladies.

We brought my 94 year old dad out for a couple of hours, but then he was ready to go home. (BTW, he will be 95 on Aug.29th.)  This is my sister, Rhonda.
Avery, Kailey & Lianna on the dock.
Kailey and Shawn, my nephew enjoying the lake.

My older son, Kelly, his wife Petrina & my only grandson, Brennan.

On Saturday, we had a family reunion.  This is a picture of the cousins together.  A couple of second/third cousins got in the picture too.  The picture of all of us is too big for me to put on my blog.  Of course, the weather in Seattle has been spectacular all Spring and Summer except for the week we were at the lake and we actually had a couple of showers on Saturday.  We had a great time anyway.  This is our second year getting together and everyone wants to do it yearly.  I just have to mention, the guy in the black is 75 years old if you can believe that.....

MUSE: Christmas Visions #10

My inspiration was the mittens and the colors.
The die cut mittens are from a completely different stamp set and I added the snowflake in the middle not realizing that the background mittens had a snowflake in them.  Must have been a subliminal thing happening.

PTI's Tremendous and Tiny Treats Christmas, Wet Paint Holiday, Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist & Simply Chartreuse
Stamps of Life Christmas 2 Build

AAA Cards #43, CASology #154 & CAS(E) this Sketch #131

One card three challenges which doesn't happen often.
I sponged the background with Distress Inks, then used a Heidi Swapp star stencil to sponge over that.  I had two larger stars that I used as masks but didn't like the white space so sponged over them too.
The banner and sentiment are from PTI.  I received this sentiment stamp set from Darnell for my birthday.  Perfect for this tiny banner.
PTI - Summer sunrise pattern paper
Banner was sponged with  Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise & Orange Zest.

Merry Monday #166 Penguins

My card for Merry Monday
I had some paper from Doodlebug, Frosty Friends that has non-traditional colors in it so decided to go for it.  Normally, I think red and green for Christmas.

PTI's Pompom Pals colored with Copics.
Avery Elle Custom Panels

Make It Monday #217 with Laurie Creating Custom Borders

My card for  MIM
Using other stamps to create your own border.  I wanted to use something different, hence the butterflies.  Not sure if it makes a good border.
Ok, so first of all I put the butterflies on the top of the card and then realized it needed to be underneath the top section.  I was able to get the butterflies off without much problem but the backs of the butterflies were not so easy to get the tape off so I opted to put them directly on the back of the card.   So a little improvising and I made it work.

PTI's Life is Beautiful, Heart 2 Heart #10, Bigger Blooms for sentiment, Bitty Dots vellum paper
Hero Arts Ombre Inks for butterflies.  The stripe is ink to paper.  And some bling

Colour Me. #78 Monochromatic

A card for Colour Me
A technique by Laura on PTI's MIM this week.  Adding color to cover plates. In the first card the white space looked so white that I decided to add some sponging around the sentiment and completely ruined the card.  In Laura's video she did add sponging but before she adhered the cover plate.  Bad mistake to do it after.   DARN....Or I could have added some sequins, bling.....Too late now.  Not even able to salvage the cover plate...
So I started over again trying water color Zig pens and didn't like that so this is the third one this time again with Copics.  Added some sequins.  And that is all I have accomplished today.
