Make It Monday #153: Watercolored Backgrounds With Heat Embossed Sentiments

I used this technique by Dawn to create another birthday card.  My supply of birthday cards is pretty slim so decided I need to make more..
You can see Dawn's technique Here
There is a similar card that Kristina made using this technique so I used a combination of both.
I used orange, red, yellow in water colors

Make It Monday #194 Stamped Border & ColourQ 273

My second card today for

Feels so good to be creating again.  This is for my granddaughter, Maddy's 14 birthday.  She will be with me this weekend and hopefully, we will go shopping for her birthday.  It's so hard when you have a birthday so close to Christmas....

Make It Monday #194 Sympathy Cards and Stamped Borders

Oh my gosh, it has been way too long since I have made a card.  I think it's been 43 days.  When I got back from Hawaii on November 29th, I really did not have the desire to come into my craft room.  I thought, oh no, have I lost my desire to make cards?  I think that  the fact that it was 4 weeks till Christmas and I was not completely ready yet that my mind was totally into the Christmas spirit.  It even made it more so because it was snowing when we got off the plane and it really was beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Oh and I got a photo light box from my nephew and his girlfriend and this is my first picture using it.  I wasn't sure what I was doing, but I think this came out ok.  Well, I will need to practice with it some more.
So we had a wonderful Christmas and now I need to make a birthday card for my granddaughter, Maddy, who will be 14 on Monday, the 29th.  A few days ago I tried to make a card for her but my mojo was just not working.  So finally, I came into my room and was able to make this card for
Make It Monday with Melissa Phillips and I must say I was happy with it.  Usually, I like softer, clean and simple Sympathy cards.
PTI's Meadow Greens, in Aqua Mist and Sweet Blush, Butterfly Dreams and Words of Comfort.
Now I need to make a card for Maddy.  I think I will use this technique on her card too.
I have made a few comments here and there but now it's time to get back into making comments on a regular basis.

Hawaiian Vacation

Aloha, two Weeks in Paradise!

So it is hard to get back in the swing of things when you spend 2 weeks in Paradise, specifically, Kona, HI.
The first week as you all know was spent with my BFF of 57 years, Colleen of One Smile Lifts a Spirit.  Her husband surprised us with a Mustang convertable.  That was so fun whipping down the highway with the top down. We sat by the pool, played on the beaches, she snorkled (I love the water but have a little, (BIG) fear of deep water).  We tried to take the Helicopter tour of the Volcano and Waterfalls, but both times it was cancelled due to weather.  Oh well, maybe next time!!!
Colleen left and I met up with my son who turned 40 on November 25th.  He is the one who decided that he wanted to spend his 40th with his mom and dad and family in Hawaii, so I have him to thank for this wonderful trip.
We spent more time on the beaches, took a trip to Black Sand Beach to see the turtles, went on a dinner cruise and saw the manta rays.  Had sushi for his birthday dinner and then went to Kona Kozy's Comedy and Magic show, then a luau for Thanksgiving.  It certainly didn't seem like Thanksgiving and was very strange to see Christmas decorations all around.
Got home on Saturday, the 29th to snow falling.  We only had about 1-2 inches but it was so pretty and was cold enough for it to hang around for 3 or 4 days.
So, this is basically the first time I have been on my blog in three weeks.  I have been getting ready for Christmas, decorating, wrapping gifts, finishing shopping and today we are going to get our tree.  Not sure when I will be able to be in my craft room again to stamp, cause next week I have a minor surgery on my hand for trigger finger.  I was able to make a few comments on the MIM, but hope to catch up soon.
