SAF 2015 Red Carpet Challenge

 

 

Well another year of SAF is over and what a fun one it was.  Colleen and I started up in Seattle because it was my dad's 95th birthday which we celebrated Friday night, then got started about 8:00 am which is already 4 hours late, so we were behind from the get go.  Then about 11:00 we lost power until about 3:15 at which point we had to go to my dad's and then to Church and didn't get home until about 7:15 pm.  So we finished up posting the cards we were working on.  So not such a great start.

Sunday, we left for Portland where I will spend about a week with Colleen for our yearly visit.  We spent Sunday and Monday catching up and posting our cards. So alas, we are done and posted our final pictures.

A very frustrating day for us up in Seattle.  We had a wind storm and the power was down for about 2 hours.  Had two cards made that I am just now posting.  By the time the power came up, we were headed to my dad's house and then to Church at 5:30.  So we just got home about 7:30 and had to re-boot everything and finally was able to watch a couple more videos.

Stamp-A-Faire 2015 Opening Night

 

This year for Stamp-A-Faire Colleen came up to my house as tomorrow is my dad's 95th birthday.  We are celebrating with family tonight so we can participate in tomorrow's events.

She came up on Wednesday and we went to our favorite store Impress at Southcenter.  We found this glitter paper that we could iron on and that is how our shirts evolved.  I used Life Is Beautiful, Framed Out and Scripted Alphabet for my shirt.

Sunday, Colleen and I will drive down to Portland and I will spend a week with her for one of our yearly visits.

We have so much fun together, but believe it or not we have not made a single card.  We have been in my craft room though and done some organizing and watching videos.  But tomorrow we will be  stamping all day.

My dad will be 95 on August 29th so this is a card I made for him.  I really struggle with masculine cards.  I think this turned out pretty cute. 

Just got this set Guiding Lights from PTI yesterday.  Perfect timing.  I smooshed the background with Distress - Tumbled Glass

PTI's Create Along With Us - August 2015

 

I was really missing MIM today, but then Create Along with Us posted which I had forgotten about.

Here is my card for Create Along With Us 

PTI's  Stitches and Swirls, Solid Stitches & Swirls in Spring Moss and Harvest Gold.  Mine doesn't look nearly as yellow as her's.

I chose this card from Nicole.  It was so bright and cheery that I went with the same colors.

Oh my, I installed Microsoft Windows 10 and my screens are totally differents.  Including importing my pictures of my cards and getting them into the folder so that I can browse for them.   I got it done but have no idea how I did it so will be a chore for the next few times until I get it down.  Yikes I hate when they change things.....

PTI's Butterfly Dreams embossed in white and then colored with Zigg watercolor pens.  Then spritzed with water to get the colors to flow.  I little masking fluid for some dots.

The Paper Studio embossing folder on background.  The strip was also watercolored and spritzed.  This was a technique that Darlene showed on Love, Live Cards.   Love it.

Coloring one cluster of flowers, cutting them in half and then framing them around a sentiment.

I also sponged those colors on a piece of Linen card stock and then cut Keep It Simple Die banner so the sentiment is also framed in those colors.
