I am so honored to be a Guest on Color Hues.
I decided to go out of my comfort zone and create a card without flowers or butterflies.
I used an old stamp set from Hero Arts Hot Air Balloon and colored with Copics
The clouds were a stencil from MFT
Come join in the fun and use the following colors to create a card.
But I ran across this die set from Poppy stamps and ink blended some card stock and then die cut the image. And just couldn't resist 2 more cards with butterflies on them.
After I finished this one, I looked inside the folder and found a stencil that went with the die and used it to blend the second one.
I added this sentiment from PTI Stacked Sentiments to both cards.
Thanks for stopping by.
What a pretty hot air balloon! I would love to see one in those colors fly over! Lovely bonus butterfly cards too. Congrats on guesting!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the guest design spot! I love these colors and your cards. I'm so glad you made a couple of butterfly editions too.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you guesting Linda, you went the whole hog and made three fab cards too. Love the hot air balloon, reminds me of hot summer days when they come drifting over our fields of an evening, in all their different colours. :)
ReplyDeleteSOOOOOO happy to have you joining us as a Guest Designer Lin, and all 3 cards are FABULOUS! Had to chuckle when you said you went out of your comfort zone for the 1st card by not using any flowers or butterflies, but your balloon card worked beautifully using the challenge colors! And of course the butterfly cards worked beautifully too with the challenge colors and are both just lovely!! Thanks so much for joining us and inspiring the players with your lovely, lovely cards my friend...we love having you join us!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteFlowers and butterflies are wonderful and your cards are great! But when I first saw your card I thought "What a brilliant idea to use a hot air balloon for a two color challenge!" And it is indeed a great way to showcase the colors. We're so happy to have you join us as Guest Designer.
ReplyDeleteI love the direction you took with our colors this time, Lin! The hot air balloon looks wonderful. As far as your additional cards, it made me smile because you just couldn't help yourself. LOL I am so glad you did as they are both wonderful! Thanks for guesting with us.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful color combination and three great cards using it. I like the hot air balloon and would love to see it airborne over my house. The butterflies look pretty with your ink blending those soft colors.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being Guest Designer at Color Hues, Linda! LOVE your sweet balloon card with the cloudy background --- adorable. And gorgeous butterfly cards. It's amazing how different they look by changing up the areas that are sponged. xx
ReplyDeleteLinda your cards are all so much fun. I love how you played with these colours. The hot air balloon is super cute and coloured perfectly is so much fun! The ink blended panel then die cut is such a great technique and I really like both card you created! So fun having you are our guest my friend, thank you!

ReplyDeleteAll beautiful cards, Linda! I really like the look of your hot air balloon & all the butterflies make me think Spring! Haven't seen butterflies yet, but the little snowdrops are already blooming.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Linda. Love the pretty hot air balloon on the first card. Your ink blending is lovely for your other two cards.
ReplyDeleteOh, Linda, you outdid yourself with these colors! I truly love that balloon, it looks spectacular in green and cyan, and good for you for stepping out of your comfort zone (I'm there with you, I love my flower stamps!). It did make me smile that the other cards had butterflies but they look beautiful in those colors. So glad you were our Guest Designer for this challenge!
ReplyDeleteWe're so happy to have you here at Color Hues. I love your balloon card, especially the wispy background. The butterfly cards are wonderful as well. So very pretty!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy we've had you as GD, Linda! Kudos for getting out of your comfort zone, I know exactly how hard it is neglecting florals or butterflies! The balloon in the soft clouds makes a gorgeous card!
