The Flower Challenge #53

I struggle with watercoloring.  I guess I just need more practice.

I used a new Gina K flower from Seasons of  Joy and an Altenew Leaf Burst stencil
and colored the flower with my Ziggs.  I used Gina's Apple Mint ink on the stencil for a light background.

Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Beautifully watercolored flower, Lin. I struggled too until I got my Zigs 3 or 4 years ago and discovered layering and making sure each layer is dry before adding more watercolors. I love how with Zigs you just have to add a dab of color and then use a aqua brush or paint brush dipped in water to move the ink and then move on and do the next pedal. Then start at the beginning again and repeat until you get the shade you want. Also if you go outside the lines quickly add a tiny bit of water and dab off the ink. Watercoloring is quite forgiving. It is the highlighting that I really need to work on. Anyway, it is a fun learning process and seems to get better with each project. I wish I could hand paint images like our friend Ros! She is amazing. Along with so many other blog friends. I guess as long as we keep trying and improving that should be our goal. BTW...I always thought your WC looked great and your blending of colors awesome. You make me want to do some watercoloring with my Zigs. I also love the narrow brush tips on the Zigs.
I do love your card and the subtle stenciled background too. Love and Hugs..Nancy
