So after posting my cards below, I realized that they were both the same design so I have revised my Sympathy card to come up with a different design. Lol
Couldn't let this month go by without playing in Twofer cause butterflies are one of my favorites to use for cards.
I used Avery Elle's Butterflies. The first was done with color pencils and Gamsol, one of the techniques that Gina K. has been using a lot in her live videos. And the second is blending DOX inks and then ink up in black for a silhouette.
I hope these are different enough to qualify. It occurred to me that they are basically the same design. Oh no!!! Oh well, I had fun anyway.
Thanks for stopping by.
BEAUTIFUL! Love the designs, colors and beautiful image too -- wonderful cards
ReplyDeleteThey kinda are (good eye!), but they're gorgeous and I'm always happy to see you, Lin! And the best part is that you had fun! I love how the butterflies are the star of the show on your cards! I knew you were an expert blender, but now I see that you're a pro with the colored pencils and Gamsol, as well. I try with them every so often since the retreat in BC, but my work ends up meh. Seeing your card makes me want to give it another go! Thank you for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #29! I hope all is going well! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteGorgeous coloring and blending, Lin! I love both of your butterfly cards! (They're my favorites too.)
ReplyDeleteBeen waiting for you to show up in the gallery Lin, and it was worth the wait! They are both BEAUTIFUL!! I'm loving the deep and intense color of the butterflies in your 1st card...I've been having fun with the Prismacolor pencils and gamsol too! And your ink blending on your 2nd card is amazing my friend! That butterfly totally pops against that beautifully blended background! Lovely, lovely cards Lin! Thanks for sharing with us at The Twofer Challenge!! :0)
ReplyDeleteTwo Gorgeous butterfly cards, Lin. I Love your blended background and your pencils and gamsol blending too. TFS your beauties. Stay safe and Creative, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteYour cards are gorgeous, Linda! I absolutely love the coloring on your birthday card, and how you let your ink blended background be the coloring on your sympathy card. There are times that I don't realize my cards are the same design until I see them in the camera lens - argh! Thanks for joining in the fun with us, Linda, at the Twofer Card Challenge!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was courageous enough to give pencils and gamsol a try. I'm not so hot with techniques - more often than not, things end up looking like dirty rags, lol! But your cards...simply stunning. Those are gorgeous butterflies, both colored up and in silhouette form. I'll have to check out AE for these! I especially love the blended dox background you've created! Really pretty cards! Thanks so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. Stay safe, Bev
ReplyDeleteThey're both super sweet Linda! Perfect ink blending on the card on the right. Love that so much, I hope you don't mind me CAS-ing it.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful, took me a minute to see how the design was the same , I think I see what you mean now and how you hanged it up! I always want to play and then get side tracked. Hope you are all settled . Hugs to you all.
