Merry Monday #194 Tropical

 

Lori's challenge this week was to make a tropical Christmas Card which was quite a challenge for me as I only have one tropical stamp set and it is not a Christmas one although it did have the Christmas sentiment.  I was able to incorporate it into my card.

Come look at the inspiration from all of the Merry Makers and join in our challenge.

I sponged the background using Distress Inks, then stamped Holiday Lights by PTI and used a small Poinsettia from Clearly Besotted, Pretty Poinsettia.  A stipe of Pure Poppy cardstock and some White Perlen-Pen in the center of the flowers.

PTI's Color Pop Floral Mini Market Set in Pure Poppy, Limeade Ice, Distress Inks, Mermaid Lagoon & Mustard Seed

First I sponged on the bottom layer of the flowers and leaves with the stencils provided.  Then stamped on tops to the flowers for more dimension.  This was a preprinted sheet in the set.

I was inspired by Jenni's card on Muse this week.  I didn't want to case in completely so did 3 different bouquets instead of one flower.  Also had to use a bigger square for these little bouquets.

Loved the soft yellow Spring yellow color in her card.

A very fun technique by Lexi on PTI's MIM 

Watercoloring, then drizzle on some Rubber cement a couple of layers.

I wasn't so sure about my drizzling but when I die cut the butterflies, I love how then turned out.

I also made a blue smooshed background for a male version and put Glossy Accents on a couple of balloons, but when I was taking the picture it wasn't dry so it ran down the page and was ruined.  Grrr.

 I messed one corner so had to cut it off so I wouln't waste another sheet of this pattern paper.

The initial paper is just the pink and white stripes and I added the rest of the patterns.

Merry Monday #192 Berries

 

This week Bonnie has chosen berries as the theme.  Come see what the rest of the Merry Makers have made for inspiration and join us in getting those Christmas cards done.

 

I used two stamp sets to create this wreath.  First I made a circle and then used the holly from PTI's Enclosed Bell to go around the circle and filled in with a smaller holly from Tag Its #9  Added the berries from Enclosed Bell

I was finally able to make a card for yesterday's challenge.  I had a routine Endoscopy yesterday and was out of commission most of the day.  Everything was good.  Have 2 of my granddaughters here for the weekend so I am not always able to just come in here and play.  The 10 year old likes to play along so she  has been in here with me.  The 15 year old is off by herself and comes up for air every once in awhile. 

Avery discovered sponging on stencils.  She watched Betsy's video on the Mini Market Kit and thought that was pretty cool.

PTI's 9th Anniversary Celebration Day 5: Sampler Square Challenge

 

This was a difficult challenge for me.  I have been trying all morning to create this.  I finally came up with something that I liked.

I used the Take 3 Die to make the squares, although they are about 1/4 " too small.  I sponged Distress Inks from a stencil on the 3 middle  squares and then had to come up with 3 butterflies and 3 leaf images .

PTI's Butterfly Dreams, Harvest Berries, Sending You & Bitty Bouquets in Summer Sunrise, Hawaiian Shores, Harvest Gold and Raspberry Fizz.  I see that I didn't add a sentiment, but not going to send as a card anyway cause I don't have an envelope that size.

My card based on the inspiration of this top that I wore last night at our Group'sValentine Dinner

I pulled out a lot of the colores from the top to make the background out of

Confetti Toss then die cut the 3 flowers from Vintage Linens and stamped in Berry Sorbet and Raspberry Fizz.

I was finally able to get in my craft room and make a card for  

MIM by Melissa

 

I only have 4 different colors of Gelatos so was not able to make an ombre card with them.

I used my Zig water color pens on the Framed Out #11 Heart die.  Then did the wash on the card background.

Used Double Ended Banner embossed in white and added the little red heart bling.
