December 2012 Blog Hop #2

This is the second card I made for the Blog Hop.  I embossed with a CuttleBug embossing folder and then used Happy Hydrangea die cuts and embossed with white embossing powder.  On the top flower I rubbed some Memento's Angel Pink on it to give it a little color and also around the sentiments for just a hint of color.

Since I have my Christmas Cards done, I decided to use the Mega Vases die cuts to glitter up with strips of Raspberry Fizz and Aqua Mist patterend paper for my layers.  The sentiment is from Heart-2-Heart #3

CFC81: Create a Clean And Simple project that features a knot or knots

This is one of the techniques we learned from PTI's Stamp-A-Faire last July presented by Betsy Veldman that I used for my card for the CAS-usal Fridays Challenge.  I used Raspberry Fizz patterned paper and ink.  The Patterned paper is partially die cut with the In bloom die and then stamped in.  Then used the yarn to make my knot.  I think it makes for an elegant look but is stil CAS.   You can access CAS-ual Fridays  Here

Here is my card for DD #32 which you can access Here  I used PTI's Basic Backgrounds Medallions and Natural Beauties stamp sets with Autum Rose ink and paper.  The lighter shade of pink is Memento's Angel Pink and used a few pearl blings.

I used PTI's Background Basics Super stripes for the patterend paper look, Fabulous Frames stamp and die cut and the butterfly is from Pretty Peonies.  Colors are PTI's Aqua mist Blueberry Sky, Memento's Bahama Blue, and SU Night of Navy. 

Make It Monday #94: Detail Glitter Technique & CASology # 22 Sparkle

I used Background Basics Inspiration on Lemon Tart cardstock, Aqua Mist patterened dotted paper and ink, and Pure Poppy cardstock and ink  The stamp sets are Stitched Sentiments and Heart-2-Heart #10  The red butterfly is the glittered one. and added some bling for the sparkle.

I used Stitched Sentiments and Heart-2-Heart #10 from PTI along with Pure Poppy card stock and ink with Mementos New Sprout.  I really like this color combination.

Make It Monday #93: Splitting Die Cuts

It has been quite a while since I have posted a card for MIM.  It seems that since I have retired it has been harder to get into my craft room to create.  I guess it is because it is that busy time of year, known as the Holidays.  Anyway, now that the decorations are all up, I decided it was time to come into my studio and create a card for MIM.  I used Fillable Frames #4 die cut to split.  Then the flower in the middle is from In Bloom,  The sentiment which I just got yesterday is from Stitched Sentiments which I already love.  Colors are Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz and Aqua Mist.  It feels good to be able to post a card for MIM again.

This is my entry for this week's MIM - Faux Pockets.  I used Simply Chartreuse and Pure Poppy, colors.  Background Basics Superstripes, and Peaceful Pinecones stamp sets and die.  It's great to be creating again.

AVERY'S BIRTHDAY CARD

This is the card I made for my (baby) granddaughter who was 7 on November 3rd.  She is going to come and spend the night with me tomorrow and we will go birthday shopping for her.    That should be a fun time.

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #90: Creating Focal Point Sentiments with Stamps & Dies

This is the first time in about 2 weeks that I have made something that I can post.  I have really missed making cards but now I am officially a retiree and will hopefully have all the time in the world to create.  This card is for this week's MIM #90.  I used Botanical Silhouettes, and Butterfly Dreams stamp set with the Script die cuts.

Birthday Cards for Karen and Jill

Today, I have been working on a couple of Birthday cards one for a very good friend of mine, Karen that I have know since Jr. High and one for a co-worker, Jill.   The first card is for  Karen and the second is for Jill.   I really like how they both turned out.  These are both second trys.  All are PTI cardstock, ink and stamp sets.  Pretty Peonies, Beautiful Butterflies, and Rosie Posie.   Oh and turning a new leaf.  I keep forgetting that I have that set.  And that lovely Quartrefoil.

This week's Dynamic Duos Challenge Pool Party and Soft Suede.  I used PTI's Aqua Mist and Classic Kraft paper and ink.  The stamp set and die cut are also PTI's Lovely Layers.  This is another birthday card for a co-worker.

I used PTI's Heart to Heart #3 with Aqua Mist and Lemon Tart cardstock.  The die cuts are also PTI.
I added this cute little heart after I took the first picture and decided that I needed to take another picture with the heart.  I think it adds to the card.

 

Make It Monday #86: The Inside Edition

This week's PTI MIM is decorating the inside of your card, which I must admit does add quite a bit to the card.  I think when I retire which is November 1st (Yahoo) I will start doing this to my cards that I send out.  For the front, I used the Quatrefoil, in Simply Chartreuse and the other color is Raspberry Fizz, along with Sending You and Butterfly Dreams stamp sets and dies. The inside of the card I used Raspberry Fizz Patterned polka dot paper.   Hope you stop by and make a comment.

CFC73: For The Girls- Create a Clean And Simple card that celebrates

This card is a tribute to my best friend, Colleen of 54 plus years which is the theme for this week's CAS-UAL FRIDAYS Challenge.  We have been through a lot together, but this is one of the most serious things we have had to go through.  About 3 or 4 weeks ago her oldest daughter Dina a 35 year old mother of 3 young children was diagnosed with lymphoma which is treatable with a 70% chance of recovery.  She will start Chemo next Friday.  And if that is not enough, Colleen had a biopsy on a spot on her lung, which is also cancerous.  She will have some more scans for 3 days this week, but the oncologist thinks her's is contained and it can be removed.  We will know more on Wednesday.  Pray for her.  But she is truly a blessing to me.  Such an upbeat person and so generous with her time and such a loving person.  I don't know what I would do without her.  She also shares my love or should I say obsession for card making.  Now, on to the card, I used PTI's Sweet Life and the sentiment is from All About You.  The ink is Memento's Grape Jelly and Lulu Lavendar and PTI's Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse.  You can access CAS-UAL Fridays blog Here

The main color I used is PTI's Pure Poppy and added New Leaf.  The Stamp set is Wreath for all Seasons.  It is an older stamp set that I just got.  I really like it.
